White Dwarf issues
White Dwarf 78
This issue included a full-page, full-colour advert for several Chaos Dwarf miniatures (£1.50 for a pack of three – imagine!) with a background story and stats line.
White Dwarf 88 – The Crude, The Mad & the Rusty
This issue included an ultimately flawed scenario involving Skrag the Slaughterer, the Khorne-worshipping Spikes Harvey-Wotan, along with the crazed Chaos Dwarf Inventor Oxy O’cetylene and his Tinman invention. There’s some nice background fluff in here that helped shape some of the rules/units in my own Chaos Dwarf army-list.
White Dwarf 95
WD95 included a half-page, full-colour advert for the C22 chaos hounds with animal handlers (Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Warrior or Dark Elf), priced at £2.50 for one handler with four hounds.
White Dwarf 103 – Crush, Crumble and Chop
I loved this one. The issue has a great story about the renegade Dwarf inventor Thymbrin Snakebeard and his latest devices of death and destruction, the Whirlwind and the Tenderiser. Classic Oldhammer narrative and the rules for the two machines, together with some fantastic artwork.
White Dwarf 108 – Chaos Dwarf Ballistics
More evocative story-telling, more new rules, primarily for the Chaos Dwarf Swivel Guns but with some crossbows thrown in for good measure!
